Me and My Daughter - Juliette on her 19th Birthday

Peter Shoneye is a Black poet, songwriter, media composer, and producer whose work spans music, verse, and storytelling. His compositions have been featured in films, television, and games, and he is the founder of Keystrum Productions, Inc., a Massachusetts-based music company and record label delivering award-winning soundtracks and creative post-production services.

His journey began in resilience—after a stroke left him with a left-hand deficit, Peter reimagined the way he played piano and built a career on persistence, innovation, and vision. His soundtrack for the short film Cataplexy (2011) earned him the Soundtrack Award in 2015, along with recognition as Best Soundtrack and Best Short Film Composer of the Year. Since then, he has written and produced numerous scores and songs, each marked by emotional depth and narrative power.

As The Black Poet™, Peter shares poetry across creative communities, exploring identity, memory, and love with a lyrical voice that resonates deeply. His artistry expands into photography—capturing portraits and architectural stories—and into literature. His debut novel, Days After the Storm, is a poetic contemporary romance that blends musical rhythm, immersive prose, and narrative intimacy.

A graduate of Full Sail University, Peter continues to shape his multidisciplinary career around resilience, creativity, and authenticity. Whether through scores, poetry, or prose, his work embodies his core belief: that stories—like music—are the very breath of culture.
